Templates, etc.
mudificàHello Jcwf, don't worry for not logging, I control every change in this little wiktio and I knew you were you. Yes thank you for your etimology which was very good. Many thanks too for your interesting explanations about Old Dutch language.
I have big difficulties to visit ga.wiktio (Irish one) because there is a wild white page "Wikipedia is sustained by people like you. Please donate today" which disturbs me in seeing the page, someone must inform them about this big problem: people cannot read their pages! Perhaps ga.wiktio must use MediaWiki:Sitenotice to say "Wikipedia is sustained by people like you. Please donate today".
I am not Corsican but I try to make work goodly this wiktionary, and even if I have a basic knowledge in language issues and in wiktio-edition I am not very good at making big templates, so please feel free to build any useful template here (like Java script for Nav): you can write English words, I will translate into Corsican words (as I did for Template:audio). Thank you in advance. ;-)
I find the separate zones for languages are beautiful but perhaps only Italic languages (Italian, Sicilian, Neapolitan, Sardinian, Catalan, etc.), which are parts of a same old linguistic system, must be in the same zone because they look like to each other very much, and Corsican people often considerate them as "brothers of their language" that is to say there is a natural cultural and linguistic nearness and the intercomprehension is very high (a Sicilian can talk in Sicilian to a Corsican, an Italian can talk in Italian to a Corsican, a Neapolitan can talk in Neapolitan to a Corsican): there are no difficulties to understand. It is true that French language (very influenced by Germanic languages) and Spanish language (very influenced by Old Arabic language) are also neo-latin languages but sometimes they can be very different from Corsican language, and I think there is not such an oral linguistic familiarity with Corsican language: I say this because I speak French, Spanish, Italian and Sicilian and If must talk with a Corsican person I would naturally use Italian or Sicilian language to do it. And you, what do you think about this?
Best regards.
Thank you very much for the interest you show/give to this Corsican wiktionary. Have a great day!
